Tensions between visitors and local residents are increasing, resulting on housing market flux in top destinations. In the future, for whom the city is designed for?

Tangible spatial data for abstract concept


Heraclitus once said “Even a soul submerged in sleep is hard at work and helps make something of the world.” Dreams are where the imagination is truly liberated and it is impossible to imagine a liberated, creative mind incapable of dreaming. This artwork represents Heraclitus’ claim in physical form using a tangible exploration on visualizing abstract dreams.

According to City of Cambridge, energy use in buildings accounts for around 80% of GHG emissions in Cambridge, with two-thirds of the total related to commercial, institutional, and large multifamily buildings. This live dashboard explores the makeup of buildings in Cambridge from historical perspective, how they are classified, and how much energy is being used.

Boston Marathon is one of the major sports event with well recorded data. This visualization was an attempt to exercise my skill on three things: 1) data analysis, 2) information design, and finally 3) technical comprehension using code.
